It’s been another great week and I’m super excited to see my youngest is finally starting to show signs he is outgrowing delayed fine motor skills problems!
Sunday: we headed to Lifebridge (the church split from where we attended for 5 years) and heard the new pastor. Then we rushed back to the church we’ve been going to for 2 years because kid’s choir was singing in ‘big church’.
The boy was beyond ecstatic to sing on stage. I thought it was a big deal because the song incorporated sign language. That’s been a bit of a struggle before with his right hand.
Monday: Spanish Class. This hour has become very special to me too! Last semester teaching I arrived later and left earlier never even seeing any moms. It’s been sweet to connect as a mom and not just their kids’ teacher!
Of course we ran downtown quickly for more rock hunting and scored a beauty.
Tuesday: Dentist. Poor kid will have a lot of these visits in his future. His bottom teeth are so cramped a regular brush can’t flex to get them clean.
It was nice being close to home – I am loving the fact that tennis practices are over and I’m not driving all over.
Another delayed fine motor skills victory: new bike with hand brakes. It’s really a new-to-him bike passed down from his brother who hardly used it. I was really worried it would lead to instant accidents, but he’s come back every time in one piece.
Thursday: Geography Class I brought Legos so students could build the Great Wall of China. The day was outrageously beautiful so after class we had to rip open new kites & enjoy the afternoon outside!
Friday: We’re off to a homeschool birthday party at Monkey Joe’s! I am fully aware that this might actually be the last time my kids enter that place since they are outgrowing it.
